RAF Mona
RAF Mona was opened in 1915 as a RNAS airship station. During World War II it was used as an air gunnery school, flying Avro Ansons.
RAF Mona today is used as a relief landing ground for circuit practise/touch and go's by RAF Valley's Hawk training squadrons and it routinely handles about half the movements that RAF Valley receives which is some 35,000 movements a year making it busier than some front-line stations. The airfield also has RAF Valley's Cossor Secondary Surveillance Radar (located near the entrance to RAF Mona) which provides ATC services along with a Watchman radar located on RAF Valley.
There is also the Mona flying club using a single Cessna 152 and 2474 (Cefni) Air Training Corps that use the airfield.
